Research Development Officer
Sharon joined the TEES research development group in September 2014. She assists with proposal development for large multi-institutional, multi-disciplinary proposals. In addition, she updates the group’s website and produces a weekly e-newsletter for Engineering PIs.
Sharon earned a B.A. in Communications with a minor in Marketing from Corpus Christi State University. Previously, she worked for the Office of the Registrar, Office of Admissions, and Texas A&M Engineering Extension Service (TEEX). Before joining research development, Sharon put together the undergraduate and graduate course catalogs for Texas A&M, wrote an RFP for a complete catalog management system and coordinated demos from vendors, assisted in the development of the faculty catalog management system (CMS), and coordinated and delivered training to the campus community on how to use the faculty CMS.
In addition, she coordinated a successful reaccreditation site visit for an internationally recognized fire service organization and assisted in planning several conferences and workshops. Sharon has served in leadership roles, including president and treasurer, for the Brazos Valley chapter of the International Association of Business Communicators (IABC), and she is a 2007 graduate of Texas A&M’s Leadership Institute.
